Negative behaviour patterns affect our daily lives whether the impact created is mildly uncomfortable or severe in its effects. We can, however, change those behaviours which cause us harm when we commit to understanding our actions and actively seek out positive alternatives.
Our present is continually being affected by our past. What we believe, what we expect, what we 'know' and how we respond to stimuli around us, is all influenced by past experience, (see: what is the sub-conscious mind).
Negative behaviour patterns can result from faulty thinking on our own part, or as a consequence of faulty teaching by significant others, but whatever the cause, their persistence harms us in the present. Getting to the root of these harmful patterns of behaviour, understanding what 'positive' purpose they supply to us, and/or simply creating a reserve of alternative positive behaviours from which we can draw, can greatly change our experience of life in the present.
